My friends were saying it’s just an illusion

Tennessee isn’t really all that different

But then I got here and found a home

that turned out to be my greatest decision

Now I know Magnolia trees,

whippoorwills, and fireflies

A warmth of heart found every day

in neighbors, friends, and living life

Amidst warm evenings and star filled skies

I added in good company

Front porch sitting no longer just a saying

Bless your heart takes on a whole new meaning

I miss my friends in far off states

but know that I am called to stay

Ready to love and to be loved

In this my heart’s contented place
